Борис Михайлов получил международную премию "Спектрум"
Борис Михайлов, куратор летних резиденций ИЗОЛЯЦИИ 2011 года, посвященных фотографии, стал победителем престижной международной фотопремии «Спектрум», которая присуждается Фондом земли Нижняя Саксония и Музеем Шпренгеля в Ганновере. Он стал ее восьмым лауреатом. Среди обладателей премии – Марта Рослер, Роберт Адамс, Томас Штрут и Бахман Джалали.
Это не первая награда такого уровня. Напомним, что Борис Михайлов — единственный украинский лауреат международной премии «Хассельблад» (эквивалент Нобелевской премии в области фотографии), которую ему присудили в 2000 году, в 2008 году избран членом Академии визуальных искусств в Берлине.

On Saturday, 10 December 2011 in the foundation IZOLYATSIA. Platform for cultural initiatives the photographer Aleksandr Chekmenev (Kiev, Ukraine) presented to Donetsk audience his book about life in Donbass. The photos were followed by explanations of images origin and principle of choice. Aleksandr described the portrayed people, their work, struggle and way of living.

lectures on photography: part two
The second part of lectures and master-classes on photography took place in Warehouse №2, where the industrial atmosphere was felt to its fullest. The listeners found out how to construct one's own alphabet in the creation of photographs by relying and transforming canons of classical art. The lecture on the relationship between street-art and photography brought together a large crowd and generated a heated discussion on the limits of morality in the art of photography. Many listeners once again opened for themselves black and white photography, and holding their breath, observed the movements of a master who was sharing the secrets of his art.
