On 28-29 May, IZOLYATSIA art-space will hold several events devoted to contemporary street art culture. As part of the program, there will be a lecture by Olesya Ostrowskaya-Lutaya entitled "Art and the Public Space", a screening of film "Exit Through the Gift Shop", and an informal lecture on top of IZOLYATSIA\\'s slag-heap (terrekon), during which street-artist Anatoly Belov will present his projects "Balance" and "Struggle".
May 28, Saturday
13:00 - lecture by Olesya Ostrowskaya-Lutaya ‘Art and the Public Space’
16:00 - documentary ‘Exit Through the Gift Shop’ (2010, USA, UK)
May 29, Sunday
12:00 - Presentation of artist Anatoly Belov\\'s ‘Balance’ and ‘Struggle’ (Beginning of the presentation is at the main entrance of the plant ‘Izolyatsia’).
The project ‘Balance’ (2010) was presented at the festival ‘Non Stop Media’ (Kharkov) in an abandoned house and at the exhibition ‘Esli’ (‘If’) in the Perm Museum of Modern Art (Perm, Russia). In life, man always tries to find his balance, but the designs that men create are so fragile that everything can crumble even at the slightest breeze of wind.
Belov\\'s project ‘Struggle’ (2011) is a logical continuation of ‘Balance’. Domestic troubles, political intrigues, economic instability attack us from every corner. Chaos is something that gives us the necessary strength for a continuous fight.
13:30 - Lecture/discussion by Anatoly Belov, ‘Artists\\' Streets: on the Culture of Street Art’ (Lecture will be held in the shade of trees, on the top of IZOLYATSIA terrekon)
Please take something to sit on on the terrekon.
All events will be held at Foundation IZOLYATSIA. Platform for Cultural Initiatives. 3 Svetlogo Puti St..
Attention! For the events taking place on May 28, there will be a bus leaving Lenin Square at 12:00 pm. May 29 you should get to events by yourself.
